I have just returned from Lenggong where the Rotary Clubs of Sitiwan Kamunting and Kuala Kangsar delivered blankets and foodstuffs plus hygiene items to the relief centre in Lenggong. President Susan, PP VJ and PP Anthony accompanied us Amy from Rotary Club of Sitiwan insisted on coming with us despite her long haul just to lead a lorry packed with foodstuffs and clothing I hope that her return is uneventful.
This is our furthest east adventure so far; we need to go to Hulu Perak next to review the situation there.
Just noted Kerian is suffering too, not a word from them, I will establish contact and make sure they have all they need.
Before going to Lenggong we visited families near Tsung Wah Primary school and found some houses still with water in them. We delivered foodstuffs and Hygiene items to three houses where the residents were elderly and invited residents in other houses, 20 in all, to come to our collection centre to be given gifts.
Yesterday we received donations of food etc. from the clubs of Ipoh, they had been to Manong and stopped by at Kuala Kangsar to share fellowship and leave some donations for us, these are gratefully received.
Tonight we are holding a review of the situation in the Idris Club.
The centre at Lenggong has requested 120 school bags for the back to school start.
